Finance & Fundraising Coordinator

​Responsible for maintaining the financial records of HOPES and to work with the Executive Team to advise on the financial impact of decisions and to ensure there is adequate funding in place to operate the Health Centre throughout the year.  

 

Duties include:  

  • Create an annual budget by March 30th.  

  • Liaise with Clinical Operations Coordinators and Dalhousie Health Services to ensure bills for supplies are paid in a timely manner.  

  • Advise Executive on HOPES finances regularly. 

  • Advise on financial impact of potential HOPES activities and initiatives. 

  • Apply for funding grants and seek out sponsorships. 

  • Maintain sponsorship packages.  

  • Identify potential fundraising opportunities.  

  • Work with the Assistant Finance and Fundraising Coordinator on tasks where assistance is required.  

  • Attend Executive meetings. 

  • Other Executive duties as required​.

"My role as the Finance and Fundraising Coordinator for HOPES has been very fulfilling. I am directly responsible for the creation and execution of a yearly budget for both the Health Centre as well as the St. Andrew’s Site; I am also accountable for setting up fundraising events to raise money. I work closely with the rest of the executive team as well as with the administration team at Dalhousie University to make sure that the finances for HOPES stays on track. As a Master’s in Health Administration student this has been the perfect role to utilizing what I have learned in my classes in a real-world situation. I have also had the opportunity to work closely with amazing individuals, everyone that is a part of this initiative are highly motivated and caring individuals that are committed to making positive changes in our communities. I highly recommend this role to anyone interested in the management aspect of health care delivery."
